A friend recently introduced me to the volunteer opportunity with Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build, and I didn’t hesitate for a second. I felt an immediate pull toward this mission. Since retiring in July, I knew I wanted to give back, and while I’ve joined a couple of communities in my new Ocean Park community, this opportunity struck me in a different way. There is something incredibly empowering about a group of women coming together to help build a safe, stable home for a single mom or a family facing hardship. A secure roof over our heads, a place to call home is something every person deserves. I hope you’ll consider supporting this wonderful cause. Truly, no amount is too small.
